As everyone will know the 2020 London Marathon did not happen as normal this year, due to the pandemic. I made the decision to defer my place to next year rather than run the virtual Marathon and so, 🤞 on the 3rd October 2021, I will be running the London Marathon in memory of our Son Lewis.
We lost Lewis to MenB in January 2018, Tracy and myself are keen to raise awareness of Meningitis, particularly MenB, hopefully I can raise some funds for Meningitis Now to enable them to continue research into this terrible disease and help prevent other families being in our situation.
Lewis was a fit and healthy 19 year old, playing rugby for Old Rishworthian RUFC and going to the gym, both of which he had done the week he became ill. Lewis had flu-like symptoms on the Thursday and was in intensive care by Friday morning, it can be that quick.
Lewis was an organ donor and saved 6 lives, something that we are very proud of and also keen to encourage others to talk to family about.
